Cookie Policy
Last updated: June 2026
This page lists the cookies and browser storage XSular Tools actually uses. The consent banner records your choice. It is not a Google-certified consent management platform. Ads are not shown. For visitors in the EEA, UK, or Switzerland, Google requires a certified CMP, or AdSense Privacy & messaging, before personalized ads. That is not this banner.
Consent choice
Cookie name: xsular_consent. First-party. It stores a version, whether analytics is allowed, whether ads are allowed, and the time you chose. It lasts 12 months. After that, or if the version changes, the banner asks again.
Reject and accept are stored the same way. Until you choose, analytics and ad storage stay denied.
Language
Language is the URL. The site does not write NEXT_LOCALE and does not read it. An older cookie with that name, if one is still in the browser, is ignored.
On this device, not a cookie
- xsular:theme — light, dark, or system. localStorage.
- xsular:user-preferences — pinned tools, recent tools, and color-studio settings. localStorage.
- xsular-exchange-rates-v1 — cached USD rate table for the currency converter, about one hour. localStorage. The amount you type is not in it.
- xsular-uuid-history — recent UUIDs for the UUID tool. sessionStorage. It ends when the tab closes.
Google and Vercel
Google Tag Manager’s script loads after the first click, key press, or touch, or after about 3.5 seconds of idle time, whichever comes first. A visit that ends before either of those is not measured. The inline script sets Consent Mode to denied for ad storage, ad user data, ad personalization, and analytics storage before gtm.js runs. A saved choice updates those signals in that same script, still before gtm.js.
When gtm.js loads, it can still load while consent is denied. Google may send cookieless signals when a tag honors that denied Consent Mode state. This site does not push tool events while analytics storage is denied.
This site does not set _ga, _ga_*, or _gid. Google may set them only if a tag in the container is allowed to run after analytics storage is granted. Tags must be configured in Google Tag Manager to require consent. That configuration is not in this repository.
The AdSense script is not loaded unless ad storage is granted. Production does not render an ad unit, so the script is not loaded there today.
Vercel Analytics loads only after analytics is granted, and only when the site is running on Vercel production. This repository does not set a Vercel cookie by name.
How to change this
Use Cookie settings in the footer. You can also delete xsular_consent in your browser. The banner shows again on the next page.
