Does a folder upload keep each file’s path?

Yes. The ZIP entry uses the file’s path inside the folder. photos/trip/a.jpg stays photos/trip/a.jpg under compressed_images or webp_images. Only the WebP mode changes the extension, to .webp.

Which images can I compress?

Compress mode accepts JPG, PNG, and WebP. Quality runs from 0 to 100 in steps of 20 and starts at 60. WebP mode also accepts GIF, BMP, TIFF, AVIF, HEIC, HEIF, and ICO.

What happens to a file in the folder that is not an image?

It is skipped. Documents belong in the file compressor, so a mixed folder does not mix types into this ZIP.

Where do the files go?

Compression runs in the browser. Files stay on the device. The download is compressed_images.zip or webp_images.zip.

Choose a folder, or drop one. Each image keeps the path it had inside that folder. photos/trip/a.jpg is still photos/trip/a.jpg inside compressed_images. WebP mode only changes the extension to .webp and still keeps the folders. The download names are compressed_images.zip and webp_images.zip.
